NEW BLUE TRASH ROLL CART          RECYCLING SCHEDULE

GUIDE TO RECYCLING

Are you already recycling?  If you haven’t been recycling, there is no better time to start than now!  Recycling helps reduce the amount and expense of landfill waste and it doesn’t take any more effort than taking out the regular garbage.  There are a number of materials that can be recycled and several ways to recycle them.

CURBSIDE / ALLEY PICK UP

Every Other Monday, see schedule above, the City of Dallas picks up these recyclables in the alley or at curbside, usually following the regular 7:00 a.m. garbage pickup.  There is no need to separate!  Just put everything into the same blue or clear plastic bag or the Big Blue Recycling Roll Cart and place it out for collection.  It couldn’t be easier!  Free blue bags are available at Dallas recreation centers and libraries. For more information call 214- 670- 4475 or 311.  Free bags are subject to availability.

Recycle These Items

Glass: (all colors) - Plastics: #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #7 - Newspapers, magazines, junk mail, telephone books - Steel, tin, aerosol & aluminum cans, Chipboard & corrugated cardboard.

HAZARDOUS WASTES

Hazardous wastes should not be disposed of with ordinary trash, dumped on the ground or in the toilet or sink.  Discarded chemicals can leach through landfill liners or get washed into storm drains, polluting ground, creek, and lake water.  Dallas and other Metroplex residents can dispose of many hazardous chemicals at no charge during Household Chemical Collection Day.  Funded by the Dallas Area Household Hazardous Waste Network and participating cities, residents who show a picture I.D. and a utility bill as proof of residence can drop off the following household chemicals:
